Peace begins where nature is protected and people walk together.

Where Nature and Community Thrive Together

Carpathian Peace Parks are more than a number of protected areas—they are a vision for lasting peace, ecological restoration, and cultural connection. Our mission is to preserve and nurture a living sanctuary where nature and communities thrive together, bridging past divisions with present-day cooperation.

Why it matters

Stretching across the border of Romania and Ukraine, the Carpathians are home to some of Europe’s last old-growth forests, rare wildlife, and resilient cultures. But these landscapes—and the people who steward them—need urgent protection. By supporting this mission, you help us prevent deforestation, preserve heritage, and open new paths for peaceful coexistence.

How we work

We combine conservation, cross-border diplomacy, and community-led initiatives to create a new kind of protected area. One that doesn’t divide, but unites. One that honors local traditions while building sustainable futures.

Our actions include:

  • Expanding protected areas and forest corridors
  • Preparing the Carpathian Peace Trail (1,500 km)
  • Training local stewards and cultural guides
  • Rewilding and species protection
  • Strengthening collaboration between scientists, policymakers, and park rangers

What your support makes possible

Every donation fuels tangible progress: trail building, ecological surveys, borderland regeneration, and new cross-cultural programs. But more than that—it brings this peaceful vision closer to reality.
